Did you know that Paris has experienced a heatwave over the last two weeks? Now that’s not very fun… but Paris Plages is so fun!! And it starts today!!
What is Paris Plages? Over about an eight week period each summer, Paris brings in sand and places it along the Seine, and other locations, for “a beach day” in summer.
From July 5, 2025 to August 31, 2025

“Every year during the summer, the banks of the Seine in Paris take on the look and feel of a seaside resort. Bungalows, deckchairs, palm trees… everything is in place to make the most of the mild summer weather, not in pairs but this time in three main locations: the Parc Rives de Seine, the Bassin de la Villette and the Canal Saint-Martin! There are plenty of activities on offer for young and old alike: swimming and water sports in the Bassin de la Villette, as well as children’s workshops, board games, books, exhibitions. Saviez-vous que Paris a connu une vague de chaleur (une canicule) ces deux dernières semaines ? Ce n’est pas très amusant… mais Paris Plages, c’est tellement amusant !! Et ça commence aujourd’hui !!
Qu’est-ce que Paris Plages ? Chaque été, pendant environ huit semaines, Paris apporte du sable et le place le long de la Seine et à d’autres endroits, pour une « journée plage » estivale.

« L’été, Paris se transforme en station balnéaire avec Paris Plages »
« Chaque année, pendant l’été, les bords de Seine à Paris prennent des allures de station balnéaire. Bungalows, transats, palmiers… tout est réuni pour profiter pleinement de la douceur estivale, non pas par deux, mais cette fois dans trois lieux principaux : le Parc Rives de Seine, le Bassin de la Villette et le Canal Saint-Martin ! De nombreuses activités sont proposées pour petits et grands : baignade et sports nautiques au Bassin de la Villette, mais aussi ateliers enfants, jeux de société, livres, expositions.
