Pain, nm : bread.
The French word « pain » looks exacly like the English word “pain.” The problem is that the word “pain” has a different meaning in English than it does in French.
In English, “pain” can mean figuratively “a person or a pet that is annoying ,” but in general it is used to signify “physical discomfort” or “mental distress.”
In French, « pain » generally means “bread”… much more pleasant to think about!
